The Last of Frightmares

We headed out to Lagoon for our last night of Frightmares.  We knew with everything going on, we'd be too busy to get back before the end.  We arrived right as they opened, and decided to hit some rides first...

From October 2011

The boys and I rode the Samauri twice without even getting off...usually the wait is at least a half an hour.

Then we rode on the Rocket...first Blast Off, then Re-Entry....

The kids and I also walked onto the Bat...

We let the boys go do their own thing (I wanted to hang with my sweetheart), and we took Talia through Psyco Dave's Junkyard.  Inside is a whole bunch of old stuff that was once part of Lagoon's attractions...made scary of course!

(I tried to get a good pic of the little skeletons in every seat, but it was moving too fast for the dim light).

We took in a show...we love the Chainsaw "Guys"

It's time for Frightmares!

Frightmares opened last weekend.  I worked on opening night, but Cole and the kids went with his mom and some friends who totally DITCHED me (they were supposed to join our whole family on Saturday night, but decided to go Friday night when I was working instead).

So our family headed down all together on Saturday night...

Kyle was pretty exhausted from his overnight backpacking trip the night before, so he chilled with Cole and Talia in kiddie land, while Alec and I hit some coasters...

Grandma is afraid of heights.  It just goes to show, having your grandkids there will give you courage...even if you keep your eyes closed the whole time!!!!

It was a fun night, it wasn't busy, so we walked on most the rides.  When we went to leave, Cole asked me if I still had the keys...he had given them to me when they rode Rattlesnake Rapids.  I told him no, I gave them back after they got off.  We searched our pockets...no keys.  Somewhere in the transfer, we dropped them.  Luckily, some honest person turned them in...and we ended our night on a positive note after a little bit of panic.  Thank you, whoever turned in our keys!!!

While I was only Mommy to 2 children....

Kyle went to scout camp the second week of June.  I sent him off, and didn't worry one bit about him.  I knew he was in great, loving hands.

While he was gone, we had a low key week.  I hadn't realized how much easier it is to be a mommy to 2 children instead of 3...especially when the 2 aren't trying to kill each other 18/24 hours of the day.  :)
We swam, we relaxed, we just took it easy.

On the last night before Kyle came home, we decided to take Alec and Talia to Lagoon.

It was finally a warm enough day that we thought it would be ok to get wet, so Cole took the kids on the Hydroluge...

We had a great time, but it was packed and after a few hours, we were ready to go home.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Kyle had a wonderful, fabulous, amazing time at scout camp...

I guess you can't listen to your mom warn you to put on sunscreen when you're 12...you have to learn for yourself that sunburns are no fun!
