While I was only Mommy to 2 children....

Kyle went to scout camp the second week of June. I sent him off, and didn't worry one bit about him. I knew he was in great, loving hands.

While he was gone, we had a low key week. I hadn't realized how much easier it is to be a mommy to 2 children instead of 3...especially when the 2 aren't trying to kill each other 18/24 hours of the day. :)
We swam, we relaxed, we just took it easy.

On the last night before Kyle came home, we decided to take Alec and Talia to Lagoon.

It was finally a warm enough day that we thought it would be ok to get wet, so Cole took the kids on the Hydroluge...

We had a great time, but it was packed and after a few hours, we were ready to go home.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Kyle had a wonderful, fabulous, amazing time at scout camp...

but he came home like this...

I guess you can't listen to your mom warn you to put on sunscreen when you're 12...you have to learn for yourself that sunburns are no fun!

Sunday Night Walks

I have a thing about Sundays. Sunday is for the Lord, and Sunday is for family. From the time I was little, we attended church during the day, and Sunday evenings we visited grandparents. Usually a bunch of my cousins were around as well. The adults would talk, the kids would play, and I remember it being so much fun!

I've been lucky to be able to continue this tradition with my own children. Every other Sunday night (when I'm not at work), we visit grandparents. During the summer, when we go to my parents, we always go for a walk. Our usual (and favorite) destination is my brother's house, which is 8/10 of a mile from my parent's house. My kids play with their cousins in my brother's huge backyard, the adults sit on the deck and talk, and it seems to set a good tone for my week. I really miss it on the Sunday nights I work.

For the first time in all the years we've been walking (4 now, I think) this is the first time we've been able to see the river from the road we walk on ...

On this particular night, we saw a little snake, which all my kids thought was super cool! (so did I, I really like seeing little snakes...just not the big, poisonous ones!)

I can't think of a better way to spend my Sunday summer nights.

Bubbles

We sent Kyle outside with Talia one evening to occupy her while we got dinner together. We sent them with bubbles....a sure-fire way to occupy a small child...

Swimming, FINALLY!

Everyone's been complaining about the unpredictable weather this year, and although I really do love the rain...I don't like my children so much after they've been housetrapped for awhile because of it. So I was really glad when we finally had some days that we could swim....

It never takes too long before the football comes out....all the boys love to try to catch it from the diving board!

The girls love to play together...and they love it when Cole "rides" them around in the chair...

Hunter still likes to hang out by the steps...
