We planted four pumpkin plants on the side of our house this year. Cole has been composting the area, so we can put in a real garden. We were excited to have about 10 pumpkins fertilize and grow. We also had a couple of "self starters" in our front flowerbed (we assume from seeds that came from last year's Harvest Party) that gave us 2 small, but perfect pumpkins. It was fun to let the kids pick their pumpkins from our very own patch...
Kyle was able to cut his own right from the vine...
Cole scored each of the kids' names into a pumpkin when they were still little...the kids enjoyed watching their "own" pumpkins grow through the summer.
Talia was happy with her pumpkin....but was THRILLED with the smaller ones she could carry on her own!
Alec got some lessons in using his pocketknife...
And then the cats watched the goings on together with great interest...
awww...our little panther and our little lion....
