I went ridiculously early to get front row seats...and although I didn't cry, I did get a little teary thinking about the reality of it all.

Now I have to face the reality of having a Junior High School student....

I say send him back to Kindergarten, who needs Jr. High.
I don't think it's possible for you to have a Jr. High aged kid in your house. You're so... not old enough. ;)
