Setbacks...

So, despite my hopes, I came down with the stomach bug that Talia had on Sunday. Tuesday all day my stomach was a little unsettled, but I was trying to blame it on the fact that I played my new video game most of the day. No such luck...between the late hours of Tuesday night and the wee hours of Wednesday morning, I alternated between shivering, sweating, and throwing up violently. Not to mention a 3rd night in a row of very little sleep...I couldn't keep anything down to take something for my fever, and I had even more sympathy for my princess's abject desire for her cuppy when she was sick...I desperately wanted to suck down a whole bottle of water, but I knew it would just come back up. My wonderful husband offered to stay home so that I could rest (and not have to worry about our toddler) but I didn't want him to miss another day of work, just in case he gets this crap too. I told him that I would call him if it got to be too much.

So, I spent almost all of yesterday either on the couch or in my bed during naptime...sipping water and broth, and forcing myself to eat some plain toast(it just didn't taste right) My fever broke around noon, and I didn't throw up again after daylight...but the migraine that the dehydration triggered was more than enough to deal with. When I finally felt it was safe to try to take something, it didn't even take the edge off the pain. I was completely exhausted.

On the up side, I slept better last night than I have for at least 4 nights. I'm still a little weak (not being able to eat for 24 hours will do that) but not bad. I've felt so...overstimulated lately...I feel like I can't catch up. Maybe this was the Lord's way of telling me to take it easy for a couple of days.

Now I'm praying that the men in this house don't get sick.

I'm sorry you got sick. Wouldn't it be nice if moms were immune to that stuff so we could just take care of our kids? Hope you are feeling better.

I'm so sorry you're sick. Don't try to do too much too soon. Give yourself some time. Read or watch TV or play your game and let your body catch up.

Because there is so much stuff going around it won't do to get too rundown. Take care.

I hope you all are back to 100%. I am nervous about getting that bug too. I guess I better make sure we have Sprite, soda crackers, juice and clean toilets!

Love ya Jen!
